Eat, Drink, Be Brutus.
It is certainly easy to write good things about ourselves, but getting good press from the critical media is another story. Here are some of the good press we've received since our soft-opening in May '05 and our grand opening in June 03, 2005.

House of Brutus - There's More Here Than Meets the Eye
by Ken Stewart (aka. Guam Food Guy)

Of all of Guam's restaurants, there is not one that has as much activity, energy, potential, sophistication, ingenuity and personality as the House of Brutus. This can be a good thing and it can also be bad, since what sometimes has a great deal of promise can also lead to ... (more)

Volume 3 No. 3
June 13 - June 26, 2005

by Steve Nygard

"House of Brutus, the fairly new restaurant and bar in the ITC building, has been carving a niche for itself as a lunchtime venue. The newest addition to Guam’s hospitality scene held it’s official opening on the night of June 3. Maureen volunteered (should I disclose with alacrity?) to represent us at the event, and says the bar was packed with business community night owls."

Restaurant Roundup
House of Brutus opens its doors
by Lalaine Estella

"The House of Brutus held its grand opening in grand style on June 3 and has been generating pretty good reviews since.

A restaurant/bar/lounge/cafe, House of Brutus in the ITC Building in Tamuning aims to be the ultimate hangout spot for ... well, almost anyone. If you're so inclined, you can have three meals a day there, plus snacks and cocktails.

The food is California-trendy but hearty, meaning there's fried onion rings, cheese sticks and hot wings available, alongside healthier fare such as the Grilled Yakiniku Salad, Seared Ahi Salad and the Shrimp, Avocado & Mango Salad.

Big breakfast eaters will probably enjoy the selection of early morning dishes. I tried the big toasted sandwich with peanut butter and syrup. Inside the sandwich was a thick spread of crispy Frosted Flakes cereal. Better writers could probably do justice in explaining it. All I know is that it tasted great! That sandwich, coupled with a tall cappuccino, got my morning off to a jumping start.

The evenings are for hanging out and listening to cool music at House of Brutus. Piano man Patrick Palomo plays Friday nights with a different guest each week. Tonight, San Francisco-based guitar man Dave Duenas is in the House."

House of Brutus Opens Quietly
Ultra-Cool Mixed Media Eatery Debuts

by Ken Stewart (aka. Guam Food Guy)

"The long-anticipated opening of the House of Brutus happened this week at its ITC building location in Tamuning. This is an unusual and eclectic place, and if the name is any indication...it should conjure up a rousing exclamation, "Great Ceasar's Ghost!" Or maybe not, but one thing is for certain, this is one ultra-cool place, and should be taken seriously. The House of Brutus is a "mixed media eatery", a concept which brings together a cafe, restaurant, lounge, bar, and coffee house. HOB will serve gourmet foods for breakfast and lunch, and an appetizer menu for the late afternoon and evening times. You can expect to find Euro-fusion influenced cuisine as well as Illy cafe espresso beverages and a selection of fine wines. There will also be live entertainment. Breakfast service starts at 6am and lunch will last until 3pm."
